In May 16, a cloudy and cool morning, luckily, there was no storm as reported by weather forecast, thus bringing good mood for Astrazeneca staffs. At 8:30, the “ Astrazeneca, Go with You” 2009 Environmental Protection Tour started from Bogong Island Lihu Lake Exhibition Hall. Promotion posts are installed, and signature book is presented to welcome participants.

Astrazeneca has been actively promoted balance between life and work. While focusing on business development, we actively organize various activities to enrich the spare time of employees and improve their health. In the spring of this year, Astrazeneca headquarter calls for all employees to initiate a walking activity with aim of “Insisting on walking to have better health”, so as to do more physical exercises and release working pressure. Astrazeneca Wuxi further develops the activity and combines it with environmental protection, with theme of “Astrazeneca, Go with You”, aiming to enabling employees to be close to the nature and pay attention to the environmental protection while strengthening their ideology of physical exercise, so as to reflect the good company image of shouldering social responsibilities.

The activity notification was warmly responded by employees and their family members once issued. Around 500 people participated in the activity, which was more than estimated. People from Astrazeneca Wuxi signed in and got a walking step calculator for each of them. Though with great amount of people in the signing in place, but things are in order. In different groups, people left for their environmental protection walking along the beautiful Lihu Lake.

This activity is participated by employees and their family members, therefore, there are many children team members, who wear the activity T shirt, hand in hand, and walk with adults, with sense of honor, which will leave a good memory for them, I suppose?

Picking up rubbish on the road is an important part of the activity. Before start, each family is provided with a rubbish bag. All participants, wearing the activity T-shirt, printed with “Astrazeneca, Walk with You”, in twos and threes, carefully collect the rubbish on the road into the rubbish bag. Along the Lihu Lake with the most beautiful scenery of Wuxi City, we tell all Wuxi people with our action: Environmental protection needs only a slight effort from each of us.

After arriving at the destination Yufu Island, all people cleaned away the rubbish collected from the road and viewed the number displayed on step calculator, which not only represent how many steps have been made, but more represent that we take more step forward to the healthy and environment-protection life. We will continue like that to as further as possible.
